First Trailer Drops For Disney's Artemis Fowl

Well this is a welcome surprise! Disney have given us a little pre-Christmas treat with the first teaser trailer for Artemis Fowl, the big-screen adaptation of Eoin Colfer’s fantasy series. And from this first glimpse, it looks more than a little bit magical.

If you’re not familiar with the books, the saga tells the story of Artemis Fowl, criminal mastermind and 12-year-old boy. When he encounters a secret but powerful race of fairies, he realises they may have something to do with the mysterious disappearance of his father. And thus, he decides to rob them…

The new movie is directed by Kenneth Branagh, with newcomer Ferdia Shaw taking on the title role. This first trailer is big on drama and creating a sense of the epic conflict to come, but if the books are anything to go by, this one should be plenty funny too. We can’t wait!

Co-starring Judi Dench, Josh Gad and Lara McDonnell, Artemis Fowl will open in the UK on 9 August 2019.
