Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are celebrating the birth of their first child today.

And in true celeb fashion the couple have given the baby boy a rather unusual name inspired by a New York district (a la Brooklyn Beckham) and a classic Disney film.

Pete and Ash's child is called Bronx Mowgli Wentz and came into the world on Thursday night weighing 7lbs 11oz.

The couple married in May and after months of speculation announced the pregnancy a few weeks later.

Popstar Ashlee- sister to Jessica Simpson- gave birth at A list hospital Cedars Sinai Medical Centre- where Britney Spears was treated for mental health problems.

The couple are expected to sell the photos of their new-born to a celeb magazine.
