Kelis is seeking £12,000 ($20,000) a month from Nas as child support for their unborn baby, court documents have revealed.
The married couple split acrimoniously last month after over five years together and are due to divorce soon.
Now the Milkshake singer wants money from her ex for a nanny and items including a pram ahead of her due date next month.
In a statement Kelis said she needs enough baby related supplies for houses in both New York and Los Angeles.
The documents also reveal that the star earned little in 2008 because she did not tour and relies on Nas for her lifestyle.
It was revealed that her monthly outgoings are around $80,000 a month, while she averages an income of $21,616.
