Less than six months after debuting her signature fashion line, Lauren Conrad received every budding designer's worst nightmare when her collection was dropped from L.A. boutique Kitson due to poor sales.

Making matters even worse, rumours are swirling The Hills star isn't even the creative mind behind the line!

Its the best known secret in the fashion industry, an insider told OK Magazine! The real designers name is Sherry Wood.

However, Lauren was soon to shoot down the rumours...

The rumours that I am not the designer of my own collection are ridiculous and hurtful, the 22-year-old told Us magazine. Ive been involved in this entire process, every single step of the way.

I have wanted to be a fashion designer since I was a little girl. I grew up designing and sewing dresses for my Barbie dolls, and the Lauren Conrad Collection has been my dream come true, she adds.

While that could still be up for speculation, one thing's for sure though Lauren loves seeing her clothes worn by others. "I normally stop and talk to them", "I think they think Im a little odd because I ask for a picture of them!"
