Lily Puts Her Foot In It

Ms Allen lets off steam with a little rant about America and her UK competition...

Let's hope her US fans see the funny side, cos outspoken pop poppet Lily Allen has been sticking her size 4s in it again.

MTV caught up with the singer, who's currently touring the States, at the SXSW festival in Texas - and she had a few choice words to say about it. "It's all very weird here," she told us. "They're all backward in Texas but not as much as they are in Arkansas and Wyoming where I'm going soon." Eek.

She added, "I can't really speak for the American population - I'm so far away from anything they are and stand for." Ouch.

But she didn't just lash out at the US - she also had a word or two to say about the other UK acts trying to crack the States.

"Razorlight? I don't really know (them) and I don't want to. The only people I can think of worth speaking about are me and Winehouse, not boring Rae (Corinne Bailey Rae) or (Natasha) Bedingfield. Whatever. They don't really write their own songs, so let's not talk about them," she said.

A couple of days ago, Lily aksed her friends on her MySpace blog whether she should bother trying to crack America or go back to home to her boyfriend's and write a new album instead.

Better keep a check on that wayward tongue, Lil, before the choice is taken out of your hands!
