Muse drummer Dom Howard has stated the rockers would be keen to record the theme song for the next James Bond film.
The band, who released new album
The Resistance, this week are hoping to join the likes of
Madonna, Jack White and
Alicia Keys by recording the coveted movie theme.
Howard told the BBC: "It's something we'd probably say yes to, or at least give it a good go,"
Muse, whose new LP will see them experimenting with their original stadium rock sound with strings and opera could be perfect for the theme according to the drummer.
He added: "Certainly some of our music fits with the James Bond vibe - and I think it could work,"
If successful, Muse will be the first British band since
Duran Duran to record the famous theme song after their 1985 effort for Bond flick
A View To Kill more than 20 years ago.
Alicia Keys and Jack White recorded the latest Bond theme track –
Another Way To Die last year and
Daniel Craig it set to return as the international man of mystery for the 23
rd adventure in the Bond saga.
Dom then said: "It's a bit weird in the Hollywood world, because you spend a lot time being told what to do and that's a bit of a pain because we like to do what we want.”
"So, I think if you can find a director you can really relate to, and it's a great film, and you know you can work well together, and then it could be a possibility."
