Shady Records have released an official statement regarding rapper Obie Trice and his decision to leave the label.

Obie Trices new single The Giant was released online recently and gives reference to his choice to leave Shady Records "Guess it was meant / for me to branch off from my Caucasian friend."

Tones of dissent are apparent throughout the track: No more 2nd place to Eminem / question if I was 2nd is the question to many men."

However, the record company remain supportive, Eminems manager Paul Rosenberg told AllHipHop.com "Eminem will continue to support and work with Obie he remains a close friend and member of the Shady family."

Obie Trice has released two studio albums so far, the first, Cheers sold over half a million copies, the second Rounds On Me didn't experience as much commercial success.

Now that Obies left, fans are eager to know whether his next project Bottoms Up will still have a 2008 release
