Babyshambles’ front man wants reunion with former band…

Pete, aka Peter Doherty, has revealed his desire to reform with Carl Barat to play The Libertine hits once again “I would love to play them again, simple as that really."

Speaking to Gonzo’s Zane Lowe during his Radio 1 show, Peter explained that he’s been trying to arrange the reunion for some time but can’t convince Barat "He still thinks I'm surrounded by this dark energy so [it won't happen] until I can prove I'm worth the risk."

Although he’s still hopeful about a reunion in the future he has to wait for his old friend to agree "there's obviously suggestions put forward and offers made so it's not about the money for him otherwise we would have reformed already.”

Since The Libertines split in 2004 due to Peter’s escalating drug habit, both Barat and Peter have worked on their own projects but have been spotted in talks several time over the past six months.

Doherty's debut solo album, Grace/Wastelands was released yesterday.
