American Idol New Alice In Wonderland?

Tim Burtons Goth twist on the Lewis Carroll classic to get unknown for star role

Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland, which was supposed to have Sarah Michelle Gellar staring in it, has cast an American Idol reject as Alice.

Ryan Nikole Parker, who has appeared in only two films, was rejected in the first rounds of American Idol in 2005, is now believed to have won the role in Burton's remake.

23-year old Parker beat out dozens of other actresses for the plum role of Alice including Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Marilyn Manason's girlfriend Evan Rachel Wood.

Burtons Alice in Wonderland is a 3-D motion capture film like Angelina Jolies Beowulf.
