New Sugababes singer Amelle Berrabah is in hot water after being arrested in Guilford on Saturday night.

Reports say Surrey Police took her in for an alleged assault on an 18 year old female. They confirmed the arrest of a 23 year old female following an incident in a bar.

Newspapers have said Amelle spent the night in a cell and was released on bail. She is then reported to have met up with her bandmates for a flight to the US.

Amelle joined the pop kittens in December 2005 after the feisty member Mutya.

Sugababes press officer at their record comany Island told MTV.co.uk:

"Amelle is helping police with their enquiries. She flew to America yesterday with the other two members (Heidi and Keisha) and is currently working on the new Sugababes album."
