Frontman Mikel Jollett was an aspiring novelist until one horrific week where a series of blows in his personal life led him to reassess his priorities and switch his attentions to music.
Initially joined by drummer Daren Taylor, the pair eventually recruited Noah Harmon (bass), Anna Bulbrook (viola) and Steven Chen (guitar) and began playing a series of incendiary live shows whilst working on their self-titled debut album.
A seemingly endless string of energetic support and headline tours has helped introduce the album to TATE converts around the globe, and you can now check out two exclusive live Session performances from the band right here – only on MTV.
