The Getaway People

The Getaway People is an alternative pop/rock band from Stavanger, Norway that mixed various styles like hip-hop, lo-fi, surf rock and blues to create their own special style and sound. They formed in 1994 releasing their self-titled debut album, the Getaway People, in the US in 1998. This was followed by a long US tour that influenced their second album, Turnpike Diaries, both lyrically and musically.
