X Factor boy band finalists JLS performance at a free gig was marred by a mini-riot.
The ladies favourites hit Fairfield Halls in Croydon yesterday (Monday) night and according to reports there was mayhem.
Chaotic scenes erupted, as disappointed fans tried to gain entry into the venue after more fans turned up then anticipated. 2,000 fans congregated at the 1,500-capacity venue, crushing and pushing to get a glimpse of the television stars.
According to reports five teenage girls were hurt and four of the girls were taken to the nearby Mayday Hospital. Some witnesses described the scene as uncontrollable and dangerous with people being trampled on and finding it hard to breathe.
The X Factor finalists, consisting of Marvin Humes, 23, Jonathan Gill, 21, Orits Williams, also 21, and Aston Merrygold, 20 " had to wait for police to control the crowd before being allowed out."
JLS (Jack-the-Lad Swing) compete with Eoghan Quigg and Alexandra Burke for the X Factor title this weekend.
