Ashton Kutcher: 'Don't Try To Change Me'
Star gives poorly timed relationship advice in interview before Demi split...
As the star of America's biggest sitcom, Ashton Kutcher already knows that timing is everything in comedy.
But he doesn't seem to have grasped that the same rule applies to life in general, judging by the content of an interview he gave just before his split with wife Demi Moore was announced.
Speaking to Women's Health magazine, Ashton was happy to dish out the relationship advice and to pontificate on the things that he wants from a relationship.
He said: "I think it's all about working on the relationship and making it better... when it's good.
"Don't wait for a problem to work on things. The goal is not to get into a relationship; the goal is to be in a relationship."
All very Zen and par-for-the-course with Ashton, but then he seemed to get a bit more personal.
He said: "I could never be with a woman who... wow, that's tough. I could never be with a woman who felt like she needed to change me.
"I would just like a woman someday, somewhere, at some point in my life to say to me, 'You're a great listener'. Haven't heard it yet, and that's a superior compliment to get from a woman. But I'm going to work on it."
