Ashton Kutcherhas won the race to reach 1 million followers on Twitter, 30 minutes before news network CNN.
The Butterfly Affect actor, challenged news giants CNN earlier in the week to see who could reach the top spot first.
Kutcher marked the end of the Twitter battle by simply posting ‘Victory is ours!!!!!!!!!’ which was followed by a video of a champagne soaked celebration hosted by Kutcher,wife Demi Moore and a group of friends.
CNN went live to try to entice viewers to beat Kutcher in the race to victory but were unfortunately unsuccessful.
Ashton has become an avid Tweeter, even posting an image ofDemi Moore in her undies on the social networking site.
Kutcher had promised to donate 10,000 mosquito bed nets a to charity for World Malaria Day,and only 1,000 if he lost.
A confident Kutcher displayed a cheque for a massive $100,000 to the Malaria No More Fund just moments before the event began.
