Assassin's Creed: Empire Release Date Leaked
The next game is rumoured to be set in Ancient Egypt.
Will the newest instalment of the Assassin’s Creed series, Empire, be out before the end of the year?
Developer Ubisoft is playing its cards close to its chest, often refusing to comment on speculation, but after an in-game screenshot supposedly leaked late last month (a blurry screenshot was uploaded to Reddit), today rumours are flying that the game may be released sooner than we thought.
According to Swiss retailer WOG, Empire may release towards the end of this year, in "Q4," to be precise (which is October/November/December to you and me). Although there’s no screenshots, box art or even a synopsis, the retailer has nonetheless created a product page for the game and is inviting pre-orders now. Interesting.
As retailers often get an early heads-up in order to prepare listings for websites etc., it’s possible this retailer knows more than we do… or they’re just super keen, and want to capitalise on those early pre-order monies. Who knows. But let’s not forget that both Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Syndicate leaked super early, too, so another accurate leak is very possible, right?
For now, all we can do is hope Ubisoft puts us out of our misery at this year’s E3 conference.
Of course, if you’re looking for some games to play before then, we’ve got you covered! Check out our guide to the greatest games releasing in March 2017.
