Michael Fassbender Stars In The First Trailer For The Assassin’s Creed Movie
AND KANYE'S IN IT TOO?
The first trailer has dropped for the big screen adaptation of sneak-and-slash videogame Assassin’s Creed, with Michael Fassbender cloaking-up for a swashbuckling romp round 15th Century Spain. And apparently they were bang into Kanye back then, with Fass’s sword-swinging antics all played out to the strains of Yeezy’s I Am A God…
The new trailer gets the film’s admittedly daft premise out of the way nice and early, as Fassbender’s death row inmate is told by Marion Cotillard that he’s been executed, brought back to life and is now about to be sent into the memories of an ancient ancestor. Fortunately our hero is down with all that, and the free-running, fast-punching mayhem soon kicks off in earnest.

Could we be on the brink of a genuinely good videogame adaptation? It certainly seems promising from the looks of this first trailer, with all the eye-melting spectacle of the game coming across loud and clear. And with Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson backing up the two leads, the cast also looks on point.
We’ll find out for sure when Assassin’s Creed swoops into cinemas on 30th December 2016.
