Avengers: Age Of Ultron Director Joss Whedon Calls Leaked Post-Credits Scene A Fake

Well that was an elaborate hoax!

So you know that slightly amazing leaked post-credits scene from Avengers: Age Of Ultron that introduced Spider-Man back into the Marvel film universe? Yeah, that wasn’t real.

Director Joss Whedon broke the bad news at an Avengers press conference in London on April 21st, where he categorically denied that the footage was genuine. This is why we can’t have nice things.

Asked about the mysterious leak during a Q&A, Whedon swiftly shut down the rumours, saying, “Yeah, that’s not real. I don’t know where that started – it is not in fact part of the movie and I don’t know who came up with it.

“We wanted to be clear that there was no tag scene at the very, very end of the film because after sitting through 40 minutes of credits and not seeing anything we thought people would become irate.”

The faked footage showed Spider-Man having some banter with a window cleaner, something that got fans mega-excited, considering it seemed to be the first appearance of Spidey in the MCU since the deal with Sony to allow him to appear in the Marvel world.

Well, do we believe Whedon or could he be double bluffing us? Guess we’ll just have to sit through 40 minutes of credits on April 24th when the film’s officially released to be sure.
