Ultron Takes Over For The Latest Avengers: Age of Ultron Poster

There are certainly no strings on this guy...

The eponymous artificial intelligence robot from Avengers: Age of Ultron takes centre stage in the latest promotional art for Joss Whedon's upcoming superhero sequel.

It's a suitably menacing image for the story, which will see an experiment of Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) go wrong, when a self-sufficient suit of armour he created takes on a life of its own… and decides to try to end the world.

Because of course.

[related]The film reunites Stark with his famous band of super-special misfits - Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) as they face a fierce battle to stop this new homegrown threat.

Also returning to (hopefully) undo the villainous Ultron (James Spader) are Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill, who are both intrigued and intimidated by two mysterious and powerful newcomers, Wanda and Pietro Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson).

Luckily for all of them, the Avengers also have a powerful ally on their side - Paul Bettany's Vision.

Avengers: Age of Ultron hits UK cinemas on Thursday 23rd April.
