Avengers sequel confirmed that he had been in talks with the film's director, Joss Whedon:
"I can’t tell you anything about the conversations as they’re top secret, but I've met up with Joss twice now and we talked a lot about the character.
"Right now we’re just focussing in on the character – it’s all exciting stuff. I’m flattered to be part of the gang."
