Marvel Studios is claimed to be struggling to secure the main cast members for Robert Downey Jr.'s estimated pay packet of £32m from the first movie has prompted his co-stars to seek similar deals.
The Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Evansis thought to have committed - because he signed a two-movie deal from the outset.
And a source has told Deadline that Downey Jr. has been agitating on behalf of his fellow stars.
"He's the only guy with real power in this situation, and balls of steel, too," the insider said.
"He's already sent a message that he's not going to work for a place where they treat his colleagues like s**t."
