Joss Whedon: 'Avengers 2 Will Go Deeper'

Director pledges that sequel will 'twist the scalpel' on characters...

Director Joss Whedon has claimed that his eagerly awaited sequel to last year's The Avengers will "go deeper" rather than "bigger".
Speaking to MTV News, the writer/director revealed that he is still working on the script for the sequel - which is [uuid=6affa18f-3f24-4a1c-994e-0fc1239e3ea8]scheduled for release in May 2015[/uuid].
He said: "Don't go bigger, go deeper.
"The grand thing is that all these people have met, so you've gotten that out of the way. And now you can really spend your time just digging in. And by digging in, I mean with a scalpel to cause pain."
And there was more good news for Marvel comic book fans, because he also let slip that he will begin shooting his S.H.I.E.L.D. television show pilot next week.
