Joss Whedon On The Avengers Sequel Villain

Director reveals he will be removing some of Ultron's powers...

Director Joss Whedon has discussed his approach to super-villain Ultron in the sequel to The Avengers.
The filmmaker is currently writing the script for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron - and has told Entertainment Weekly that he has toned down the evil robot's powers a little.
In the Marvel Comics universe Ultron's powers include super strength, high speed, enormous stamina, durability, flight, mind control, a coma ray and a super-high IQ.
He said: "I knew right away what I wanted to do with him. He's always trying to destroy the Avengers, goddamn it, he's got a bee in his bonnet.
"He's not a happy guy, which means he's an interesting guy. He's got pain. And the way that manifests is not going to be standard robot stuff. So we'll take away some of those powers because at some point everybody becomes magic, and I already have someone who's a witch."
Whedon's "witch" is [uuid=172a39d0-9bfe-4614-a3a1-28ea15dafcf0]another new character Scarlet Witch[/uuid] - who may be played by Elizabeth Olsen.
He also hints that Ultron's anger with the Avengers will be one of his defining characteristics.
"As a character I love [Ultron]," he continued, "because he's so pissed off."
The movie is set for release in May 2015.
