On Friday news broke that the Swedish superstar, real name Tim Bergling, had been found dead in Muscat, Oman. A statement from his publicist read "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii.”

“The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given."

Further reports have reported that there are no suspicious circumstances in his death, but a cause of death has yet to be released.

Avicii retired from touring in 2016. In past interviews, he opened up about battles with excessive drinking and had been suffering with pancreatitis.

The dance world has been in mourning ever since the announcement. David Guetta called him “a friend with such a beautiful heart”, while Calvin Harris praised the “extremely talented” producer.

Deadmau5 tweeted: “Banter aside, nobody can deny what he has accomplished and done for modern dance music and I’m very proud of him.”

Meanwhile in today’s Official Chart Update, Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa look set to stay No.1 for a second week with their brand new collab ‘One Kiss’. Ascending to the top spot last week, the single became the biggest Number 1 of 2018 so far with a combined sales total of 70,000 units.

However, Ariana Grande is hot on their heels with her incredible new single ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ entering at No.2, less that 1,000 combined sales behind Calvin and Dua.
