Avicii's Family Issues Second Statement Following His Death: 'He Couldn't Go On Any Longer'
The family of Swedish DJ Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, have released a second statement following his death on April 20.
Avicii was found dead at a hotel in Oman at the age of 28, and now his relativeshave implied he took his own life, writing: "He could not go on any longer."
Take a look at Avicii's 'Lonely Together' Ft. Rita Ora...
A spokesperson for the musician refused to confirm to the BBC whether he had committedsuicide.
The family's statement, which was released in Swedish, translates to: "Our beloved Tim was a seeker, a fragile artistic soul searching for answers to existential questions.
"An over-achieving perfectionist who traveled and worked hard at a pace that led to extreme stress."
Avicii had been open about his struggles with fame, announcing in 2016 that he would retire from touring and focus his time on making music in the studio.
The statement continued: "When he stopped touring, he wanted to find a balance in life to be happy and be able to do what he loved most – music.
"He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace."
"Tim was not made for the business machine he found himself in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans but shunned the spotlight. Tim, you will forever be loved and sadly missed. The person you were and your music will keep your memory alive. We love you, Your family"
Our thoughts are with the musician's family and friends at this time.
RIP, Avicii.
