Babyshambles Best Gig Ever
Hes back with his band, sober and back on form
Pete Doherty was greeted with a roaring reception when he returned to the stage with rest of the Babyshambles after his 29 day stint in prison.
Despite yesterdays revelations that he cheated drug tests, before serving his sentence, he has now sworn to stay clean saying "I can't go back to that [using drugs]. I don't think I've ever been healthier."
Doherty began the show by thanking "everyone who wrote a letter over the last month" before the band opened with 'Pipe Down'. The gig was went unusually smoothly without all the usual onstage mayhem.
At one point the band were joined on stage by another notorious musician, Pogues singer Shane MacGowan, for a version of Irish folk classic Dirty Old Town Lets just hope he can keep up the good work, he plays a solo gig in Manchester this Saturday.
