Babyshambles' WHOPPER Deal
We hear details at exclusive Pudstock gig...
Babyshambles' new deal with Parlophone records is reportedly worth a mega 2.5m for three albums.
MTV News caught wind of the exact terms at Saturday night's (January 20) exclusive Pudstock gig.
And the news comes after the official announcement last week that Babyshambles have signed to Parlophone.
In a statement The MD of the label, Miles Leonard, said, "Babyshambles, justifiably, have a great reputation for crafting some of the most exciting music around today, and in Peter Doherty they have one of the best songwriters of his generation."
Babyshambles spokesman Jon Bills didn't deny the figure, but told us, "We can confirm the band are signed to us but we can't comment on how much the deal was worth."
Babyshambles did not perform at Saturday night's gig in aid of homeless charity Crisis, as frontman Pete was celebrating Kate Moss's 33rd birthday at her Cotswolds home.
However, guitarist Mick Whitnall was in the audience to lend his support to music mates Dirty Pretty Things, Athlete, Supergrass, Ed Harcourt and Graham Coxon, who all took to the stage.
Other members of the audience included Pete Doherty's ex, Lisa Moorish and model and singer Pearl Lowe.
Pudstock was the icing on the cake of Crisis's Christmas charity, Crisis Pud, which sold Chrimbo puds for 20. The money entitled a homeless person a "Christmas with all the trimmings".
Tickets to Pudstock went to the 100 lucky doners who found a lucky sixpence in their pudding.
The charity has raised over 40,000 for the homeless so far. For more information on how you can help, visit. crisispud.com
