Skyfall Wins Outstanding British Film At The BAFTAs

Bond beats Les Mis and Anna Karenina to take the prize…

The most recent 007 flick, Skyfall, has beaten the likes of Les Miserables, Anna Karenina, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and Seven Psychopaths to win the title of Outstanding British Film at this year's BAFTAs.

Accepting the award on stage, Skyfall director Sam Mendes said: "We all had high expectations for this film and this is really the icing on the cake."

Backstage however, the BBC has reported Mendes as saying that the fact that Skyfall star Daniel Craig was not nominated for an award was "the curse of Bond", adding:

"It was an incredible performance but because Bond is the spine of the movie... You take it for granted."

As well as winning Outstanding British Film, Skyfall also received the award for Best Original Music.
