Band Aid 30 Gets X Factor Debut

[related]X Factor fans are in for an extra-special treat during the results show on Sunday night, as Bob Geldof's Band Aid 30 will make its TV debut.

The latest version of Do They Know It's Christmas? will get a video premiere during the show, featuring artists including One Direction, Bastille, Ed Sheeran and Jessie Ware.

Ellie Goulding, Paloma Faith, Olly Murs, Elbow, Chris Martin, Bono and Sam Smith are also among the line up.

Money raised by the record will go towards aiding those affected by the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa.

A teaser trailer featuring footage from the song's original recording in 1984 by artists including Paul Weller, Sting, Paul McCartney and Boy George, has been released detailing the single's purpose.

The song was covered by a line up including Bananarama, Kylie Minogue and Jason Donavan in 1989, and again in 2004 by the likes of Busted, Chris Martin, Snow Patrol and Dizzee Rascal.

Do They Know It's Christmas? will be released as a digital download on Monday 17th November, with a physical version to follow in three weeks' time. It won't hit Spotify until January.
