See The Star-Studded Video For Band Aid 30 Single
Brilliant re-working of charity classic is on sale now...
There's no need to be afraid
At Christmas time
We let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty
We can spread our smile of joy
Feel your arms around the world at Christmas time
But say a prayer
And pray for the other ones
At Christmas time it's hard
But while you're having fun
There's a world outside your window
And it's a world of dread and fear
Where a kiss of love can kill you
Where there's death in every tear
And the Christmas bells that ring there
Are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight we're reaching out and touching you
Bring peace and joy this Christmas to West Africa
A song of hope where there's no hope tonight (ooh)
Why is comfort to be feared?
Why is to touch to be scared?
How can they know it's Christmas time at all?
Here's to you
Raise a glass to everyone
Here's to them
And all there is to come
Can they know it's Christmas time at all?
Feel the world, let them know it's Christmas time again
Feel the world, let them know it's Christmas time again
Heal the world, let them know it's Christmas time again
Feed the world, let them know it's Christmas time again
Feel the world, let them know it's Christmas time again
Heal the world, let them know it's Christmas time again
Feed the world, let them know it's Christmas time again
Feel the world, let them know it's Christmas time again
Hopefully you've already downloaded the Band Aid 30 version of Do They Know It's Christmas? after it went on sale at 8am this morning.
But in case you missed the debut on The X Factor last night, the official video for the fundraiser has now been released on the web too.
Filmed in the studio where the track was recorded on Saturday, the hastily produced promo echoes the style of the original 1984 video.
But the stars of the 1980s are replaced (apart from Bono of course) with current talent such as One Direction, Sam Smith, Rita Ora, Emeli Sandé, Chris Martin, Olly Murs, Ellie Goulding, Seal, Clean Bandit, Elbow and Ed Sheeran.
Appearing on The X Factor last night, organiser Sir Bob Geldof hinted that the promo might not actually be the final version.
"We'll have a rough edit on The X Factor and we'll have a rough edit of the film," he explained.
A physical copy of the song will go on sale in three weeks, costing £4 as a cassette single.
The government has agreed to waive the tax on the single - meaning more money will go to help fight ebola in West Africa.
