Lake Of Stars Charity Gig

Basement Jaxx, Rob Da Bank and The Wombats line up for UNICEF

Basement Jaxx head up an all-star line-up at east London clubbing institution Fabric next month, DJing at a spectacular night in aid of UNICEF.

All proceeds from the Lake Of Stars night on Thursday May 3 go to the childrens charity, and among the other acts on the bill are Radio 1s Annie Mac, Rob Da Bank, Four Tet, The Wombats and The Beat Monkeys. The party will also act as a showcase for this years Lake Of Stars Festival, which every autumn sees hordes of adventurous clubbers fly out to Malawi in southern Africa for a three day musical spectacular. The event blends western DJs and artists with African acts, and it aims to raise money for the Malawian economy and help promote the country as a tourist destination.

Organiser Will Jameson says: Its taken ages to plan and put together but I feel this event is going to be really special. All the DJs have been so good, they are coming together for this one-off London gig to really give the Lake Of Stars Festival a huge boost.

All the acts are performing for free, and all proceeds will go to UNICEF.
