Bastille Score First UK No 1 Album

As Justin Timberlake holds on to top spot in Official UK Singles Chart...

Bastille have landed their first UK No 1 album with Bad Blood - knocking Emeli Sande's hugely successful Our Version Of Events off the top of the Official UK Albums Chart.

The London four-piece's frontman and songwriter Dan Smith told The Official Charts Company: "If it's true, then it's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

"We are completely blown away by how many people have bought the album, and have no idea what to say."

Stereophonics had a new entry at No 3 with Grafitti On The Train, while Bruno Mars was up two places at No 4 with Unorthodox Jukebox.

And Dido rounded out the top five with Girl Who Got Away, which was another new entry.

Meanwhile, over in the Official UK Singles Chart, Justin Timberlake maintained his No 1 position with Mirrors.

JT fended off the fast-rising Bruno Mars - who was up five places to No 2 with When I Was Your Man.

Bastille fell one place to No 3 with Pompeii, with Pink and Just Give Me A Reason (ft. Nate Reuss) up six to No 4.

Thrift Shop by Macklemore (ft. Ryan Lewis & Wanz) was at No 5.
