Warner Bros Reveals Plans For 10 DC Superhero Blockbusters

Titles and stars announced for a raft of new comic book movies...

Warner Brothers has up until now been keeping its cards close to its chest on its plans to expand the DC Comics cinematic universe beyond its Batman and Superman-based efforts.

But the studio has stunned fans of the legendary comic book stable by revealing plans for a whopping 10 films as far ahead as 2020.

It has confirmed the much-anticipated Justice League standalone movie for 2017, along with the long hoped-for Wonder Woman film the same year.

And Gal Gadot is confirmed to be playing Wonder Woman alongside Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill as Batman and Superman in the Justice League movie.

The news was broken by Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara at a shareholder meeting yesterday.

Game Of Thrones star Jason Momoa has been confirmed to be playing Aquaman in a 2018 movie, while Ezra Miller will appear as The Flash in a standalone film the same year.

Shazam will come in 2019, probably with Dwayne Johnson in a big role if previous reports are accurate.

And the second Justice League movie will hit in 2019 - with Cyborg (starring Ray Fisher) and a Green Lantern movie the year after.

The first new DC movie will of course be Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice with Affleck, Cavill and Gadot - which is due out in 2016.

But the second is something of a surprise, an adaptation of Suicide Squad directed by David Ayer will tell the story of a special black ops military unit

Tsujihara described it as "a gritty story of a team of supervillains who take on a black ops mission for the US government".
