Armie Hammer 'Topping List To Play Batman'
The Lone Ranger star reportedly 'back on radar' for Justice League movie...
Rising Hollywood star Armie Hammer is reported to be at the front of the queue to play Batman in the forthcoming Justice League movie from Warner Brothers.
The 26-year-old, who came to fame as the Winklevoss twins in The Social Network and is shortly to be seen as The Lone Ranger, is claimed by Moviehole.net to be "back on WB's radar" for the role of the caped crusader.
He had actually been cast in the role for a previous planned adaptation of the Justice League Of America comics - which was scuppered by the Hollywood writers' strike and the withdrawal of a tax break.
Aiming for a 2015 release, the movie will see Superman, Batman, The Flash, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter teaming up to fight villains.
Moviehole said: "The studio need a new guy to guard the cave now that Christian Bale has hung up the cowl. And with plans to reintroduce a younger take on the character in the upcoming Justice League movie, a draft of which has been completed by Will Beale, the studio has Hammer atop of their list of potentials.
"It's really, when you think about it, a no-brainer. Thus, I wasn't much surprised when informed this morning that he's in with a good chance to play the part in the superhero tag-team movie."
