Ben Affleck 'Has Signed Multi-Film Deal As Batman'
Star could even direct a future Justice League movie, it is claimed...
The 41-year-old star's casting generated a tidal wave of complaints and protests from the public - with more than 50,000 disgrutled Batfans signing an online petition against him getting the role.
But he has been supported by The Avengers director Joss Whedon and former Batmen Val Kilmer and Adam West - among others.
Now The Hollywood Reporter claims that the casting is the culmination of "months of conversations and dealmaking", with director Snyder having first approached Affleck earlier this year.
It is also reported that Warner Brothers had initially approached him about directing Superman reboot Man Of Steel.
THR reports: "Sources say that Affleck has been signed for multiple movies, should sequels continue to proliferate. The talks were so secretive that many Warners execs and most WME agents remained unaware of their existence."

He is also apparently in the frame to direct the Justice League superhero ensemble film further down the track.
Ryan Gosling is reported to have been under consideration to play Batman, but his disinterest in sequels is thought to have ruled him out.
