Christian Bale Visits Aurora Shooting Victims
Batman actor spends time with injured filmgoers in hospital...
The actor, who plays Bruce Wayne/Batman in the movie trilogy, was confirmed to have visited some of the victims in hospital.
Bill Voloch, the interim president of the town's hospital told the Denver Post that Bale visited five victims who are still being treated for their injuries - spending around two-and-a-half hours with them.
Mr Voloch said: "The patients were really happy to meet Bale. They are obviously big fans of his movies. They wanted to see Batman and were really pleased to see Bale.
"It was good for the patients. We hope it was therapeutic for them, and all the staff really appreciated him coming."
Bale, 38, had earlier issued a statement saying: "Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them."
Warner Bros said that Bale had made the trip in a personal capacity.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt was the latest star to react to the tragedy yesterday.
