Kevin Smith: 'I've Seen Ben Affleck's Batman Costume'

Ben Affleck's Batman costume - and he says it's "mind-bending".

The comedy filmmaker, a close pal of Affleck's, said that director Zack Snyder showed him images of the costume personally - including one of the star wearing it.

"He pulls out his iPhone and he shows me something that, I'm not kidding, I went glassy-eyed and weak in the knees," Smith said on the Hollywood Babble-On podcast. "I saw the Batman costume. I saw a picture of [Affleck] in the costume. I instantly air-hugged him."

And Smith hinted that the costume was different to previous versions and was inspired by a particular storyline involving the DC Comics character.

"You have not seen this costume on film before - for a comic book fan it was mind-bending.

"Everyone always does this Matrix-y armour thing... there wasn't a single nipple on this suit. It was fantastic.

"The costume, it blew my mind. I think you'll be happy, everyone will be like, 'Holy s**t'. It's its own thing, we haven't been down this path before."

The sequel to Man Of Steel - provisionally titled Batman Vs Superman - is reported to have started shooting already.
