The Dark Knight has made the American Film Institutes list of the 10 Best Movies of the year.

Its rare that blockbusters or comic book adaptations make the prestigious list but it seems the Batman films success never stops!

Also in the Top 10- which is picked by reviewers and filmmakers- are Frost/ Nixon, Iron Man, Gran Torino, Wall-E, Milk, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

The Dark Knight's star Heath Ledger is nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor.

That ceremony takes place on January 11 in Los Angeles. Many of the other films in the AFI list are also up for Globes and are likely to feature on the Oscar nominations.
