The Dark Knight UK Premiere
Christian Bale, Michael Caine and Maggie Gyllenhaal are all in Leicester Sq with MTV News
The Dark Knight- the hotly anticipated new Batman film- had its London premiere with A List stars in attendance.
Bruce Wayne himself Christian Bale paid tribute to Heath Ledger- who plays The Joker- whilst on the red carpet.
Maggie Gyllehaal- Batmans love interest- and Michael Caine who plays butler Alfred were also at the premiere.
The Dark Knight has already taken $155 Million at the US box office in its first weekend of being on release. When asked why the film had been such a success Bale said:
"Its a good movie but it seems like a perfect storm scenario. The hype has been good, the reviewers have responded, you've great portrayals, youve got a great cast and a great director in Christopher Nolan."
Paying tribute to his co-star Ledger- who died aged 28 in January- the british star said: "Of course youve got Heath Ldeger giving a fantastic portrayal of The Joker. He deserves all the credit that people are giving him."
