Beastie Boy MCA ‘Rapidly Recovering’

Beastie Boys’ Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch has released a statement about his cancer battle saying he is “a week-and-a-half out of surgery now and rapidly recovering.”
The rapper is being treated for a cancerous growth on his lymph node and salivary gland.
In an email message to fans- sent on his 45th birthday- he said: “My neck and jaw are still pretty stiff from the surgery, but it gets better everyday.”
However MCA also talked about starting radiation treatment saying: “but no sooner am i on the mend from this first torture than are they lining up the next one.”
“The next line of treatment will be radiation. That involves blasting you with some kind of beam for a few minutes a day, 5 days a week, for about 7 weeks.”
Yauch sent love to fans and also thanked Jay-Z and Coldplay for recent tributes. Both covered Beastie Boys songs at the All Points West festival- where the trio were due to play.
