5SOS's Ashton Irwin Just Got A Tattoo Inspired By Zac Efron's Seminal Performance In High School Musical
Ashton Irwin from 5 Seconds of Summer shows off a tattoo that may or may not be a tribute to Zac Efron's character Troy in High School Musical. See pics and read in full at MTV.co.uk
5 Seconds of Summer drummer Ashton Irwin might be a punk rocker with biceps the size of Stonehenge, but underneath all that bad-assery lies a soft and and squishy centre not unlike a Rolo that has been warmed to melting point in the back pocket of his extraordinarily skinny jeans.
In fact, it looks as though Ash has a not-so-secret obsession with Zac Efron - not that we can blame him, we've all been there - and has revealed a brand new neck tattoo that seems to be a tribute to Troy Bolton, his character in High School Musical.
Okay, okay - we might be exaggerating a smidge, but Ash really has got a new neck tattoo that is a fairly enormous depiction of a bird in flight.
If you're wondering how this relates to HSM then can we just draw your attention back to the caption, where Ash quotes seminal song Breaking Free, saying: "In the wise words Zac Efron 'we're soarin, we're flyin'."
Unfortunately he does then go on to slightly undermine our theory that this is a passionate tribute to Zefron and adds: "I've wanted to get this for so many reasons for a long time... Ignore the high school musical comment, I couldn't help myself (it was calum's idea)."
Should've known Calum was involved. Bet he gets Ash to do duets by offering to do V-Hudge's parts on the tourbus and everything.
But what do you make of Ashton's new tatt? Let us know with a tweet to @MTVStyleIntl already.
