12 London Fashion Week Approved Beauty Trends You'll Actually Want To Try
Glitter tears, super contouring and more catwalk faves.
London Fashion Week might be over, but there's plenty of beauty inspiration to keep your look fresh and fierce all the way through to the SS17 shows in September.
From barely there brows and super chiselled cheekbones to glittery lips and killer braids, these are the 12 hottest trends that might seem a little bit out there, BUT will give your day to day look a total refresh if you're up for getting a bit experimental with your beauty routine.
Trend #1 - Barely there brows
Forget penciling them in as this season it's all about keeping it natural and if anything, whiting them out like they did at Vivienne Westwood.
Trend #2 - Overliner
Floating eyeliner like this from Topshop Unique is the talk of the runway shows and even better, is super simple to do. The idea is to add even more drama to your look by moving your sweep of eyeliner up to the top of your lid so it sits just above the crease.
Trend #3 - Perspex nail art
Coffin nails are officially out and instead semi-transparent perspex nails like those seen at Gareth Pugh are in. See through nails doesn't have to stop you adding a bit of colour and they look even edgier with a French tip in gold.
Trend #4 - Naked eyes
If just got out of bed beauty is your ultimate then you're going to love the stripped back eyes seen at Shrimps. Focusing on lips and sleek hair, the eyes were left naked to add a slightly undone twist to stop things looking too put together.
Trend #5 - Matching hair and lips
Ashish is always a bit experimental, but we have so much time for their pastel wigs and matching lips. A simple but totally statement look that is going to be a seriously cute summer style win.
Trend #6 - super contouring
If sculpted cheekbones are your thing, take it one step further like they did at Gareth Pugh with this totally airbrushed effect for the ultimate of all contours.
Trend #7 - glitter lips
It's a scientific fact that glitter makes everything about 465 times better, so make like the models at Charlotte Olympia and add a sprinkle of shimmer over the top of your lipstick for that fully frosted look.
Trend #8 - neon eyes
If you're bored of the grungy look then neon eye makeup is going to be your summer saviour. Ditch the kohl for good and instead try a matching liner and mascara in a neon shade like the catwalk look at Fashion East.
Trend #9 - braids
The ultimate in lazy girl beauty, braids aren't going anywhere and we're particularly loving these from Niro Wang.
Trend #10 - Glossy lips
Mattes are taking a back seat next season and super shine is set to make a return. If the 90s, Clueless vibes are your thing then you'll want a pastel or nude pink with a high shine gloss like these seen at House of Holland.
Trend #11 - metallic hand art
Okay, you might not like the idea of painting your whole hand in metallics like MAC did for Vivienne Westwood, but the look is reworkable for real life if you stock up on metallic polishes in gold, silver and rose gold.
Trend #12 - Glitter eyes
Sequin tears and embellishment were all over the AW16 runways in London, but our faves were these from Markus Lupfer. It's an easy peasy party look too as all the makeup artists used Maybelline's Babylips on the eye to create a glossy lid, then just placed the sequins on top.
