MAC Are Turning Their Most Iconic Lipstick Shades Into Perfume

Weird but also awesome.

If we said Ruby Woo and Lady Danger to you, you'd no doubt instantly know that we're referring to a pair of MAC's iconic red lipstick shades. And for those of you who wear them devotedly, there's a bit of a treat in store as MAC have just announced their 'Shadescents', six special edition scents created to help you smell like your favourite lipstick colours too.

This might sound a little bonkers on the surface, but the idea behind it is to allow you to have alippy and fragrance that share thesame scent memory.

The concept plays on synaesthesia, which is the mixing up of the senses that allows some people to see sounds and hear - or in this case smell - colours.

MAC havepicked six of their most iconic lipstick shades to launch this experiment and the scents are just as you'd imagine given the colours. For example Ruby Woo has notes of 'sultry red leather' andLady Danger is a 'woody floriental' while Velvet Teddy andCrème d’Nude are both 'subtly sexy' with notes of wild honey and amber musk.

Candy Yum Yum is unsurprisingly a rather sweet scent whileMy Heroine involves wild cherry, saffron and incense smoke.

Basically they sounds weird but yum and we can't wait to get our hands on them. How about you?
