Nail Contouring Is The Sneaky New Way To Fake Long Nails

Ideal for anyone with, well, gnawed little stubs.

If you've always felt a bit jealous about those slightly irritating, effortless girls who still manage to live their daily lives without snapping off each and every one of their super long nails, then today is your lucky day.

FINALLY there is a hack to let you live that life (or at least the illusion of it) without having to get falsies and it comes in the form of nail contouring.

At this point we've contoured pretty much every body part there is. From cheeks andears to abs and arses, if it's been done by a celeb, you've probably given it a go in secret.

But now it's your nails'turn with a gloriously simple beauty hack that will make even the mostgnawed, stubby and broken talons appear beautifully long and graceful.

It comes from manicurist Jin Soon Choi, who used the look for the Vera Wang show at NYFW the other week and explained how it's done to ELLE.

"This is something I used to do when I was young," she says. "When I was growing up, my friends and I wouldn't extend the color to the sides of our nails to make our nails look more elongated."

All you need to do is start with a coat of light or clear polish across the whole nail. Then, using your feature colour, paint a long straight strip from cuticle to tip, leaving the outside corners without colour.

VOILA. The longest looking nails the world has ever seen are officially yours. Enjoy.
