People Are Using Wax To Give Themselves DIY Nose Jobs On Instagram
The talent is real.
Just when you thought the internet couldn’t get any weirder, the beauty obsessives on Instagram come through with a brand new trend that’s set to blow your minds.
Folk are not only creating content now in which they remove their makeup, eye lashes, their taped-up jaws (yeah, jaw slimming tape exists) and coloured contacts in order to show an incredible before and after, but there are people who are also deconstructing their noses.
It’s not as gross as it sounds. Basically, makeup artists the world over are giving themselves fake nose jobs using wax in order to create the ‘perfect’ nose for their face shape. FYI, your nose is fab just the way it is.
The online trend originated in China with women sculpting their faces as a part of their beauty regime, using special effects face wax.
“You can change the shape of anything on your face, like the nose, brow bone, chin, etc., using a wax like Ben Nye Nose & Scar Wax,” professional makeup artist Lottie told Cosmopolitan.
“It will take practice, but it’s not super difficult—you just use a tiny amount of wax at a time, roll it into a ball or a skinny, snake-like strip—depending on where you’re placing it—and then press it onto your skin to form the shape you want,” she went on to say.
Apparently the advice you really need though in order to test out this trend, is to purchase adhesive in order to stick the wax to your skin, and you can sculpt from there.
“Once the shape is right, you can smoothly blend the edges into your skin using your finger and some water or Vaseline,” Lottie added.
Once your sculpting has settled and you’ve blended, all you have to do then is apply your face, slowly dabbing your concealer and foundation over the wax in order to keep it in place.
Imagine the possibilities once you’ve conquered the nose job. Ezra Miller’s jaw? We want it.
