The Products These Celebs Use To Deal With Breakouts

All the products celebs use to look perfect.

Sometimes it can seem like celebs have been carved outta sugar, spice and everything nice by the angels themselves, with super shiny hair, immaculate clothes and makeup that us mere mortals can only dream of.

But when the glam squad has gone home at the end of the day, there’s one thing that definitely still unites us all, and that’s a big, fat, juicy spot or two. HOORAY.

Absolutely no one has perfect skin 24/7 - even celebrities armed with the world’s top experts and MUAs on speed dial. Even all of this lovely lot struggle with break outs every now and again, and these are the genius at-home products that they turn to whenever a blemish pops up.

Kylie Jenner

Fave product: Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

‘Cos she’s all about keeping it real, Kylie’s more than happy to Snapchat with no makeup on, and in the past she’s revealed that the odd blemish or two can unfortunately keep up with a Kardashian. Her secret weapon is the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, a pink treatment formula that dries out pimples with sulphur and salicylic acid while calming irritation with calamine. She applies hers with a ‘boop’ sound effect for extra sass.

Kendall Jenner

Fave product: Murad Acne Body Wash

Even when you’re a world famous super model, spots can strike at any time. Kendall’s pretty great at speaking out on the effect that acne can have, admitting on her app that it had “completely ruined [her] self-esteem” in the past. Luckily, her skin guru Christie Kidd has got it covered, revealing that she’s hooked Kendall up with this bacne-fighting wash for when body breakouts hit.

Zoella

Fave product: Origins Clear Improvement Mask

If you watch Zoe’s daily vlogs then you will have seen her rocking this oh-so-chic charcoal mask a fair few times. It’s one of her faves for clearing pores and drawing out impurities. And on those days when you need to bring in re-inforcements, she even teams it with Origins The Maskimizer to create the ultimate mask base, and finishes up with Origins Super Spot Remover to specifically target bad boy blemishes.

Millie Mackintosh

Fave product: Jan Marini Bioglycolic Bioclear Lotion

Of all the famouses, Millie Mackintosh has got to have some of the most enviable skin out there. She’s always a glowy goddess - but behind the scenes she’s still battling with the odd breakout just like the rest of us. This is her go-to good stuff for reducing inflammation and resurfacing the skin to tackle acne and its effects. It might be a little pricey (obvs, she’s made in Chelsea), but totally packs a punch.

Demi Lovato

Fave product: Renee Rouleau BHA Clarifying Serum

Ms Lovato’s obviously gonna be a big fan of her own skincare line, Devonne by Demi, but she’s been raving about Renee Rouleau’s fancy range ever since her Disney days. The serum in particular is her secret weapon for handling blemishes, clogged pores, bumps and red marks, but it also reduces bacteria and improves skin’s clarity. Demi’s described this one as a “miracle product” that means she “wakes up the next morning with literally no pores”, so it must be pretty great stuff.

Ashley Benson

Favourite product: Benefit Boo Boo Zap Acne Spot Treatment

Always a big fan of the fabulous acne cream selfie, Ashley’s not one to shy away from talking about skincare, showing off her spots and handling random breakouts. On her website, she’s recommended Benefit’s Boo Boo Zap! Acne Spot Treatment, a fast-acting solution designed to help with redness and swelling of angry spots. You can top it up throughout the day too, both underneath and on top of makeup.

Selena Gomez

Favourite product: Biore Deep Cleansing Strips

One of the reasons that we lurve Selena Gomez is that she’s still a drugstore kinda gal at heart, and these bargain deep cleansing pore strips are one of her fave products. They definitely tread the fine line between gross af and super satisfying, but they take all of the gunk straight from your pores and manage to keep potential breakouts at bay. Shay Mitchell is also a big fan of these magical strips.

Bella Thorne

Favourite product: Sisley cleanser

Bella took to Instagram recently to state that it’s no secret she struggles with acne, and to proudly say that she doesn’t feel bad about it because it’s 100% normal. These days she flaunts her natural skin all over social media and doesn’t worry about it, but still gets a helping hand from Sisley’s plant based cleanser. When breakouts strike, it’s perfect for gently purifying and eliminating impurities.

Emma Stone

Favourite product: Cetaphil

Yup, even actual OSCAR WINNERS get spots. Life’s a bitch. In fact, Emma used to suffer from “debilitating and embarrassing” acne which required proper medication in her teens. She told Refinery29 that Hollywood even “video-airbrushed” her skin for Easy A. Her favourite cleanser for banishing the breakouts is Cetaphil, a soap-free, fragrance-free, non-comedgoenic and seriously affordable cleanser which LOADS of celebs adore.

Khloe Kardashian

Favourite product: Kiehl’s Herbal Blue Cleanser

Khloe K’s all kinds of obsessed with this acne-fighting cleanser, and has even got younger sis Kylie Jenner using it too. Kiehl’s Blue Herbal range is specifically for oily, blemish prone skin, so the oil-free, non-drying formulations are great for keeping breakouts at bay. It has a refreshing, clinical smell too, thanks to the spot-fighting salicylic acid packed into the formula. Thanks for the rec, Koko.
