This Is Why It's Best Not To Shave Your Legs First thing In The Morning
There is an optimum time to shave your legs and it's not first thing in the morning. Find out more at mtv.co.uk
There's nothing like going at your legs with a rusty razor at god o'clock in the morning to wake you right up, but it turns out that shaving your legs first thing isn't actually the best idea.
While you might think that shaving before bed gives more time for hair to start growing back before you strut your stuff with your pins out, there's actually a super clever reason you might want to start trying it.
As Seventeen have pointed out, when you go to sleep at night your legs become warmer and swell ever so slightly. We're talking to the extent it isn't visible to the eye and not that they swell up like a pair of pink balloons or anything.
This in itself causes your hair follicles to retract under the skin, meaning that any annoying little hairs you missed or didn't get a hugely close shave on are slightly hidden. As a result, your legs will actually look way smoother when you get up in the morning.
So basically it's best to get in bed and have a sleep on freshly shaven legs as they'll actually look better and not quite as stubbly as they did when you went to bed the night before.
