Lost Beavis And Butt-Head Game Discovered & It's Playable At Last

See the secret game for the first time.

Way back in 1996, when Beavis and Butt-Head were MTV's kings of the world, an arcade game was started by Atari. It never made it into the world to be played. UNTIL NOW.

Only 12 of the prototype arcades were ever made and, after testing didn't go so well, got thrown on the scrap heap. But now Galloping Ghost Arcade have found one and managed to get it working!

Controls for the gaming adventure include dedicated "Cool" and "Kickass" buttons next to the joystick of each player. The game looks just like the cartoon and is filled with catch phrases from Beavis and Butt-Head throughout and, of course, lots of lols.

The game is a scrolling beat 'em-up that even features boss levels, plenty of weapons to pick up and end of level awards like "chicks a-hoy". Yup, it was the nineties. You even have bonus rounds where Beavis and Butt-Head have to fight each other using sticks with boxing gloves on the end. Of course you do.

The restored gaming machine is now part of Chicago's arcade's collection. It stands proud after being rebuilt using parts from an old 3DO console. Geek fu was strong in these guys.

Check out the game in action on the prototype arcade in all is glory in the video above!
