Ben Affleck Reveals His Plans For A New Batman Movie
Will Smith might reprise his Suicide Squad role as Deadshot.
With everyone involved in Batman v Superman having taken a bit of a battering from critics and audiences alike, you could forgive Ben Affleck for wanting to give it a rest when it comes to talking about the Caped Crusader. However, it sounds like Bat-Fleck is ready to get straight back in the saddle, with the star revealing what he’s got planned for his solo trip to Gotham…
"I think what I would do, what I probably would do, is in some ways what Zack [Snyder] did with [Batman v Superman], which is to borrow certain things from the great comic books, but create an original story around it," said Affleck, who is set to direct the project and is co-writing the script with screenwriter Geoff Johns.
“I wouldn't want the fans to already know the story and be familiar,” he continues, “but I would borrow, steal great things that have been done before in the comics.” That would seem to put a bullet in the theory that Affleck will directly adapt the famous Under The Red Hood story arc from the comic-books, although he has given himself a little wriggle-room to cherry pick from various different stories.

Nothing is concrete at this stage, although one popular theory is that Will Smith might reprise his Suicide Squad role as Deadshot, assuming that film proves to be the success that Warner is anticipating. The new Batman movie doesn’t have a release date as yet, but you can get your next fix of the Dark Knight when Suicide Squad lands on August 5.
