Benedict Cumberbatch Takes Ice Bucket Challenge - Repeatedly
Actor delivers what could be the best take on the charity stunt yet...
Benedict Cumberbatch might have been a day late with his Ice Bucket Challenge, but we can forgive him after seeing his amazing video.
The 38-year-old star of Sherlock and The Hobbit trilogy was responding to the challenge laid down by Tom Hiddleston, Juno Temple and Adelaide Clemens.
He begins by groaning as the icy water is poured over his head, before nominating movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, pop star Kylie Minogue and racing driver Lewis Hamilton to follow suit.
However rather the video then cuts to his bathroom floor, as he struggles to remove his soaked clothing.
And the camera follows him all the way into the shower, where he gets another soaking from an unseen assailant.
Next he's standing outside chatting on the phone and wearing a very smart suit when he asks: "What do you mean I've got to do it more times because I was nominated more than once? Oh no..."
And another bucket is hurled over him.
He then gets another two soakings - one from his motorbike helmet - before the onslaught finally ends.
We told you yesterday how Harry Styles from One Direction had accepted the challenge.
